More information on some health terms you may not be familiar with:

Commercial insurance

Coverage you get through work, a spouse’s work, by purchasing individually, or through a health exchange

Co-pay

A set amount you pay for health services or prescriptions after you have paid your fixed deductible

Coinsurance

The percentage of costs you pay for healthcare

Deductible

The total cost you have to pay for health services or prescriptions before your insurance starts to pay

Government insurance

Federal or state-funded insurance, including Medicare, Medicaid, Medigap, Tricare, Veterans Affairs (VA), or Department of Defense (DoD)

Office- or hospital-based pharmacy

A pharmacy at your doctor’s office or hospital where you can get your medication, including TIBSOVO® (ivosidenib)

Independent foundation

Non-profit organizations, not part of myAgiosTM Patient Support Services, that may be able to help with out-of-pocket medical and prescription costs

Medicaid

A form of government insurance that provides free or low-cost health coverage for patients who qualify

Medicare

A federal government health insurance program for people 65 years and older, certain younger people, people with disabilities, and people with end-stage renal disease

Medicare Part D

The part of Medicare that helps pay for prescriptions

Medigap

Extra health insurance you buy from a private company to pay for healthcare costs not covered by Medicare

Out-of-pocket costs

The portion of the cost of health services and prescriptions that isn’t covered by insurance

Specialty pharmacy

A mail order pharmacy that dispenses specialty drugs like TIBSOVO.
Note: TIBSOVO is only available at certain specialty pharmacies

Tricare

A health insurance program offered by the US Department of Defense Military Health System

Uninsured/underinsured

If you are uninsured, you do not have health insurance. If you are under-insured, your insurance does not cover TIBSOVO

VA/DoD

The United States Department of Veterans Affairs and the Department of Defense offer medical benefits to people who have served in the US Armed Forces
